Immigration Reform
There are two issues in Washington that some politicians would like for them to fade away into oblivion and never return. One is of course the government shutdown, and the other one is immigration reform. Both of these issues have something in common the extreme right wing of the Republican Party really wants to shut down the government and build a huge, gigantic wall to keep out all illegals, especially if they come from south of the border. Then you have zealot politicians like Sheriff Arpaio and other vigilante groups that want to take things into their own hands and stop and roundup everyone they catch crossing the southern border.
The first issue, government shutdown did not have to happen. We have a functioning democracy that works. Some may not like it, but it works. When the president said, “I ain’t gonna sign this” it was time for everyone to huddle up and figure out a Plan B. To take the president head on is not a good Plan B strategy. Ever.
That fence that is being built along the southern border will someday be a tourist attraction much like the Great Wall of China and the Berlin Wall.
